South Yarra-Gardenvale Chapter 150 years young

What does the start of the American Civil War, the annexing of land to create the Northern Territory and the Melbourne Cup winner 'Banker' have in common ?  The events all occurred in the same year that the South Yarra Chapter first met in 1863.  In fact they met on the 25th of April 1863 in the Newbridge Inn on Toorak Road.
