Outstanding Night at Combined Chapters Exaltation

On Thursday 9th May Dandenong Apex Chapter hosted five other Chapters to conduct a combined Exaltation ceremony at South Eastern Masonic Centre.

The Chapters involved all shared the work for the night which was the Exaltation of (now) Companion Bill Bouchacra.  Companion Bill had just flown in from the Philippines that morning and was very bright despite the jet lag he was suffering.

The five other Chapters involved were: Southern Cross, Melbourne, Bayside, Pakenham and South Yarra Gardenvale.  Each Chapter contributed at least one member of the team.

The First Principal of Dandenong Apex Chapter, VEmComp Peter White was excited to receive Companions, Principals and Past Principals.  The meeting was also attended by the MEm First Grand Principal, MEmComp Peter Gurr, his Deputy, REmComp John Ives, the Third Grand Principal, REmComp Brian Davidson and a fine array of Grand Chapter Officers, including a number of Past Grand Zerrubabels.  It was also a highlight to be able to receive the MWor Grand Master of Mark Master Masons of Victoria, MWor Bro Peter Julier.  A total of 87 Companions filled the lodge room and a great sense of warm fellowship was shared by all who attended.

The ceremony was led by EmComp Harry Blatt as Director of Ceremonies who ensured that the work was of a very high standard.

The night was a result of months of preparations and hard work from members of the participating Chapters, well supported by the Grand Secretariat staff and the Freemasons Victoria Marketing team.

Following the ceremony everyone retired to the festive board where there was a great deal of laughter and some stirring speeches.  The event proved to be a huge success and other Chapters would find it incredibly worthwhile to initiate similar nights shared between their surrounding Chapters.
